9-23-06 The Frightened Redhead

Well, it's no biggie, right? Traveling more than 2,000 miles to a place I've never been before, leaving friends I've known for year behind, to live with a man I've known seven years, but never spent more than a few days alone with at anytime?Redhead

Cake!

Right...

Well, one thing is certain, I'm adopting the Miami Heat as my new favorite NBA team because they still have my favorite player, Shaq. My apologies to the Orlando Magic. I'm sorry, but you guys are just so LAME.

Gawd I hate packing. I really do. I'm being yelled at right now, in fact, cuz everyone else in the house is packing and I'm um, well, futzing with my blog.Modigliani_young_redhead_in_an_evening_d

I've decided to put all my redhead icons in this one because, well because I'm nervous as heck about all this and because it is fun.

Next time up I have to tell you about my killer new gaming notebook, which I bought after selling my five other computers because there will be no more room for servers and desktops or time for game hosting anymore. The BF2 guys are crushed. Sorry guys.

Computers are worse than cars. I don't even want to think about what those five boxes cost when new, and I get enough out of selling them for one admittedly bitchin notebook. Sigh.

Natural disaster stuff will be very different in Florida than it is here. Here you buy your emergency provisions and wait for it to hit (earthquakes mainly) and THEN you decide whether you can stay or have to leave.

In Florida, they see their disasters (hurricanes mainly) coming from hundreds of miles away, so you get to decide if you want to stick around for the Big Event or not.

I think I'm going to be a Getting Out Fast girl when storms bigger than Los Angeles start forming and heading my way.

Somehow, I don't think that sunrises over the ocean will be as fun as sunsets over the ocean.

Redhead_piano_bar I have never driven across country before, so this is really going to be amazing. Three redheads driving across country. Yes, the two friends going with me are also natural redheads. I think that is almost a genetic event. Has it ever been done before? Will it EVER happen again? Does anyone really care one way or the other? NO.

Restlessredhead I have just been handed a beer. Ha! They are trying to guilt trip me into packing more. I have been PACKING ALL WEEK! I can't do it anymore!

Oh, cruel, they handed me an Anchor Steam, locally brewed in San Francisco. I wonder what passes for good beer in Florida. I am also dying to taste Cuban food.

I'm going to try setting my watch back to Eastern Standard Time, because it has been four years since I lived in that time zone.

Hmm. These icons suggest that redheads do NOT do well in the land of murder mysteries. I just love the writing in the excerpt from 'The Risque Redhead': 'Her eyes were large and liquid...They always seemed to be pleading with you.'

Okay, here is something very cool. Guess what is due east of Orlando, at the beach? Cape Canaveral! The Johnson Space Center! We have Vandenburg in California but it's all cloak and dagger spy satellite stuff so there are no launches to watch, just awesomely cool contrails at sunset.

Risque_ken0252_mag Well I am all out of my icons. Drat, drat, drat!. No more excuses. Beer in hand, I return to the battefield of tape and empty boxes...then again, I could order pizza first. Barbecued chicken pizza from Johnnie's. Ya, there you go.

Bye!
